not a silly question at all... however, my explanation might get a little silly... let's see if I can explain it... Punch 2 hold in cardstock equal distance apart. The ribbon is threaded through the 2 hole punches (this can be aided by the double circle punch now sold by SU! on pg 222, item a You will start with the card stock face up, thread the right hand end of your ribbon through the right side hole, and the left hand end of the ribbon through the left side hole. Pull ribbon all the way through the back so the ribbon is sort of like a "U", with each end hanging out the back. Now you will re-thread the ribbons through the front- do this by taking the ribbon on the right ribbon and crossing it over to thread it back through the left hole. Now do the same for the other ribbon, by crossing it over in the back and bring it up through the right hole. Sometimes it can get a little bulky with all the ribbon crossing in back, but with a little tweaking you should be able to straighten it out. Trim the ends in the front and you're done. I like it because there are no loops to worry about. I hope this was somewhat clear.
