My job has gotten busier since the new dentist bought the practice, so I no longer have time for my lunchtime walks in the park....I had about 20 minutes in the car and colored in this sunflower stamped on newsprint. It turned out too dark. Usually if I keep working at it something works and I am happy. This never turned that corner, but I ended up spending so much time on it that I posted it. I would have liked the flowers to be a better shade of yellow. TFL, Francie

Oh Francie, I'm sad that you don't even get a proper lunch break with time to enjoy the park and the ducks and geese. That's not right! Do you not find that the print on newsprint tends to smudge and make colours darker - ours certainly does when I tried it! Cheap paper, I guess...Not that I find this dark - you've still managed to get great shading into those sunflower petals. And the little butterflies are sweet. As I type I'm looking at the card you sent me with an almost identical embossed background which I have yet to replicate.
Hope you have a lovely weekend.

I sure don't see where it is too dark! In fact you have just the right shadows and highlights on these! Love the color spilling into the background too! You always put so much work into your fantastic creations! Sorry to hear you are not getting a full lunch time too!

Oh, I like this so much with the flowers stamped on your newsprint and then colored. I think the flowers look fab. The ribbon and twine finished it off perfectly. Sorry about your "no" lunch time walks. What a bummer. :(

I truly love your coloring on this. You know how to create shadow and highlights on your petals so it really is beautiful. I love the overall texture and the warm color palette.

Francie, this is beautiful! Your sunflowers aren't too dark, they're just a variety you're not used to ;) I love the 3D look you've created with your shading and the marvelous highlights. So sorry you've been robbed of a proper lunch break. The walks and fresh air are so important. Glad you're coloring to relax and that we get the benefit of seeing your creations!
