Since it's the holiday season, and you just can't have enough holiday cards, I browsed through my stash to find some coordinating paper in my American Crafts Jolly Paper Pad. The piece I chose was a chocolate brown with strings of stars and balls in reds, greens and whites. This gave me my color palette for the circles.
The SU Garden Green circle was pierced around the edges using the straight line template from my Paper Piercing Pack Essentials (I don't have the circle template). To create the rounded piercing pattern, I simply started piercing, and while the piercer was still in its whole, I rotated the template just a smidge to keep the border distance from the edge constant for the next hole, then pierced it, and repeated these steps until I went entirely around the circle.
The sentiment circle was heat embossed by first inking the stamp using the Versamark ink pad, then inking the stamp again on the Cherry Cobbler pad before finally stamping onto Whisper White cardstock. I then sprinkled the stamped circle generously with Clear Embossing Powder and heat-set it with my heat gun. When cooled, I punched it out with a 2" circle punch. I re-enforced the circle with a second circle cut from scrap cardstock that was glued on the back of the stamped sentiment circle. This was done to keep the heavily embossed sentiment circle from warping.
The red banner behind the sentiment circle was hand cut.
All the elements were glued down except for the sentiment circle which I raised up for depth using SU's Adhesive Foam Strips.
I glued the silver cloth flower in the upper right instead of the lower left because it would have covered over my designer paper stars on the white circle if I had exactly replicated this week's sketch (and also because I was munching on a granola bar at the time and got a chocolate smudge from my fingers that needed covered on the green circle :-(
An easy card that would be a good candidate for multiples (if you skipped the paper piercing).
