Hi there! It's my turn to host the Mix-Ability Challenge this week with MIX196: I Spooked Too Soon! Come join us for a challenge where the unexpected is the goal.
For my sample today, I've gone with the Halloween theme, but the challenge can work for any occasion project.
I taped down the bare tree stencil and added Titanium White paint around the top, Prussian Blue Hue at the bottom and filled in a little with blue pigment inks from an old Colorbox Chalk Paint Box Set. While the stencil was in place a paintbrush filled with watery white paint was splattered around, unexpectedly in some places, it seeped under the stencil. The little creature, its hands, and treat pail were colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut out then some were popped up with 3D Foam Squares. Watch out for that unexpected hand popping in to steal away those goodies! A white embossed sentiment was sponged with Colorbox ink and rubbed away from the embossing. A little colored pencil was used to darken the bottom of the sentiment pieces for an ombre look.
That's it for my challenge card! Come on over and join us and try it out. Thanks for stopping by.

Love how the use of the stencil looks spooky on your card. The white just adds to it. Great job on your scene and the hand reaching in is a great touch!

Janelle, I just had to sit and look at your night bg for the longest time...this inspires me to give more time to creating with the 'barest' of artist colors...loved this challenge and all the fun takes on it.
