In addition to the sketch itself, the challenge asked us to include fabric in the design. I had a stretchy fabric left over from making my grand-daughter a Super Woman costume that was the perfect holiday red color... so I built the card around it. I cut it the fabric using the smallest banner die using my Big Shot embossing machine. However, I didn't run the machine all the way from end-to-end of the die, but stopped before I got to the square end so the fabric wasn't cut all the way out - allowing me to use scissors to cut it longer than the die itself. I needed the length so that I could "scrunch" or "ruffle" the fabric on the double-sided adhesive tape so the ripples would stay once the banner was mounted on the brown panel.
The tall brown designer paper panel was matted with Cherry Cobbler. The colors of the holiday balls in the paper led me to choose the Wild Wasabi card base and the Early Espresso horizontal panel.
The final touch was the brown baker's twine which was wrapped twice around the card front, then tied with a bow.
This card is non-holiday specific, so can be used for many occasions, including New Years (for which I would recommend some "bling" be added to the stars or balls on the designer paper; and even to the fabric banner for extra dazzle.
