I stamped the image in Brown Stazon ink and colored the apples with my Stmapin Up markers layering Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red. then I colored the basket with my new Copic markers. But the dark brown one keeps letting out really large blobs of ink. Not sure what is causing this. I have a couple more that do it also. Anyway I didn't want to throw the image out and have to start over so I used a white fine point Sharpie marker to outline the weave of the basket. That camouflaged the blobs enough that I was willing to keep it. I added an upside down heart rhinestone for an apple at the bottom of the basket. Also added a couple of hand-cut leaves.

You may laugh, but the first thing that caught my eye was the white detailing you did on the basket - I thought it was an intentional design plan to repeat the white stripe detail in the background paper. No, I find out you had a blobby Copic marker and you rescued the basket by using the white pen to sketch in details! No matter how or why it happened, it's perfect and it really enhanced your image. Isn't it fun when a "card gone wrong" can turn into a shining shining success?! Thanks for sharing this neat apple card - and the journey in its making. Fun!

Wonderful save for your 'blobby' basket! Love the jewel apple and that stripped DP! Very nice card to meet both challenges! Love that apple basket image!

Wonderful fall card Pat! I think some markers are over filled and that is why the ink squirts out - so frustrating, isn't it? However, you made a wonderful save here and it looks terrific! I have this stamp set and never think to use it (sadly) so I may dig it out and see what I can come up with - thanks for the inspiration! Wonderful use of this striped paper to coordinate with these luscious red apples! ~Karen.
