I was in need of some anniversary cards, so chose this week's MOJO Monday sketch challenge to create a square card.
This card has 6 layers (including the birds). The sketch required at least 5 layers, plus including a tag embellishment. I chose the "Always" tag stamp which I stamped with Versamark, then heat embossed with gold embossing powder. The tag ribbon was created by pushing a double thickness of gold ribbon through the tag punched hole, then wrapping the flattened ribbon tightly with gold wire to create a "bow". The ends of the wire were then wrapped tightly around the shank of the paper piercing tool to create a tight spiral.
The birds were mounted with SU Stampin' Dimensionals foam adhesive pieces to give depth (all the other layers below the bird were glued with Tombow Liquid Glue to minimize card thickness. The tag was attached to the card front using the Dimensionals as well.
Not a terrifically hard card to make, but required a lot of pre-planning and step-by-step layering to achieve the look that the sketch challenge required. I think this will make a perfect anniversary or wedding card.
