Hi everyone! I'm going to thank everyone here at SCS yet again. Why, because of so much beauty in the gallery and the challenges throughout this site. In the short time that I've been uploading, I have tried so many techniques (instead of putting them on the back burner). SCS has helped me become more confident.
Ok, on to the details for my first Alphabet Challenge. This weeks letter is "O" and the double challenge is to create a one layer card. Did you know there is such a thing as an Oasis Hummingbird!?! Here's my inspiration: http://static.wixstatic.com/media/cb...247b88~mv2.jpg
*Stamped this multi-layer bird with a few Altenew colors (the green got lost) and then sealed this image with clear embossing powder. Added a black gem for the eye.
*Stamped floral image from Altenew Vintage Flowers and the "leaves" are from an old SU set (mini watercolor flowers ???). Sealed the flowers too.
*Set oval mask to sponge w/SU Bliss Blue for a little bg interest
*Stamped sentiment from various stamp sets w/Altenew Jet Black a couple of times
Of course, the MISTI made this card come together so easily. I'll make several more of these with more of a winter theme for general note cards. Hmmm, do Hummingbirds migrate for the winter??? Thank goodness for Google.
Thanks for looking!

Love your sponged oval showcasing your hummingbird. Love your aqua and two greens dotted area to showcase your flowers. This card is wonderful just like your sentiment.
Oh my this is beautiful such is the nature and hummingbirds in it. Great job for your first challenge. And I to have gained so much courage knowledge and confidence from SCS and many on it. I always feared stamping because I always never got it to stamp right and I've owned stamps from over 40 years. Even ink pads and a marker or 2 . Can you beleive that? So I am with you SCS is awesome!! But the so many ladies like alpha crew and more have extended my Ohana to a world of my own and it's becoming a big one with so many that are by choice!! Lol you know how they said we don't get to pick our Ohana? Well now on SCS we do!! And what a fabulous Ohana I have by choice now!!

Outstanding for Letter O. Love the Oasis hummingbird. The oval is a wonderful background and frames it so nicely. I like the one orange flower. A beautiful one layer card. Great job! TFS BTW - the tiny flowers/leaves are from the Watercolor Mini set.

Beautiful card....I love your multilayered hummingbird. I'm glad you're learning and trying so many new techniques. BTW-hummingbirds do migrate for the winter...they rely on nectar for their food...no nectar here in my state in the winter... Just snow I'm afraid...

This looks terrific Deborah. I am so glad that you are uploading cards and trying new techniques. Your entire gallery looks terrific and I frequently read the lovely comments you sprinkle throughout SCS. Hugaroonies my friend (I didn't know that word before I met you).
