Wow that card took me a long time. My sister and her husband have an Australian Cattle Dog and they're pretty much obsessed with it. I found out the dog's birthday is next week so I decided to make him a card. A stamper will find any excuse to make and send a card, right?
I've been trying to come up with something fun and when I saw today's stained glass mixed media challenge, I thought that the pattern and color of the Australian Cattle Dog would be cool to make as stained glass. I found a picture online and added the stained glass lines before I printed it out.
I don't have any embossing powder so first I printed on photo paper but I didn't like how my markers looked on it, so I printed it out again on cardstock and gave it a coat of clear nail polish.
I also added some zig zag stitching in black too kind of match the zig zaggedness of the stained glass.

The zig-zag stitching is a perfect finish. And clear nail varnish - that takes me right back to my teens when I used to use it to varnish some of my pen and ink drawings. A great stand in for embossing powder. I like the stained glass lines you've drawn in behind the dog - and I bet your sister will be so pleased with this!

Oh my word, Jen!!! This card is a top-notch stained glass card with that marvelous dog! I love the different color of "stained glass" for the floor! You did an outstanding job in response to this challenge!!!

Jen thanks so much for commenting on my card especially as it lead me back to your terrific gallery. This Australian Blue Heeler jumped right out of the gallery at me. Wow you sure nailed the colours perfectly. I just scrolled back to read the comments and I see my Aussie friend Helen said the same thing. Wow, wow, wow!!!!
