And another card for the huge 600th color challenge celebration! This time I've used Barbara's color challenge with "Summer" as dessert.
I don't know about you, but I think of fishing mostly in the summer, although I'm not a fan myself, I do love wharf's. I'm originally from Brooklyn, NY and used to go to Sheepshead Bay in the summer for great fresh seafood. OMG, I can smell it now and my tummy is rumbling too!!!
My rendition is very limited in color but you get the idea, right!?! I did use SI tea dye sparingly.
This is the first time I've inked up this mystery stamp using Memento Jet Black on watercolor paper. Used the palette blending technique to color this image.
Added the brad as a door knob.
Heat embossed cs panel with clear ep for visual interest.
I've had this stiff mesh forever, crumpled it for the feel of a fishing net (looked better then burlap).
Added a gob of "YES! Paste" to the center of the base, layed the mesh over, then the image panel. I weighted this down to ensure everything was adhered. I also added some fishing "rope" (twine) for a little fun.
I left off a sentiment because I'm not certain to whom I'll send this. I like it as is. Forgot to include the matching envie, used the fish image.
Hope this inspires you to visit a nearby wharf soon!

Love the mesh and the image is just so cute. Your fish background is perfect. I'm going to the river park this afternoon. I'll see some fishermen, as well as pleasure boaters, sailing boats, jet skiers, barges, etc. Oh, and I can't leave out the Pokemon players that are there doing their thing. It's all fun. For some reason, your image brought to mind the cutest boat I saw on the river recently. I think it was homemade and brought to mind Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn. I imagined them in that boat.

Oh, Deborah, LOVE! This is fabulous, and I love the embossed fish for your background, and wow, the watercolored image is beautiful! Love the mesh! Yes, I'm a Jersey girl myself, and I've spent many a day at the wharfs. I love the ocean and only spent just short of a year away from it! Beautifully done, sweet friend! Woohoo! Hugs! xoxo
