We are celebrating the 600th Color Challenge where our wonderful hostesses have chosen favorites from the last 100 challenges and asked us to play along. I chose to do a couple of samples and this is for Mary's combo CC591. I have really been taken with the palette blending tutorial/technique that Dini shared a while ago. I love the depth of color you can achieve using only a couple of markers, in this case the 3 color challenge colors. I stamped in Stazon Brown and then scribbled my markers on an acrylic block and used a fine wet brush to pick up the color. I used the two blues for most of the bird and then used the Slate on the branch and beak. I used some diluted grey to add a little texture to the breast area. I diecut this with a circle die. I scored my base and top Coastal layers and sponged the base scoring and around my sentiment piece. I used markers to ink up the sentiment and accented with some ribbon. I popped this piece over my dp. I really love this color combo-thanks Mary for choosing it.
