The background is kitchen roll soaked in ink from mopping up spray inks. Don't throw them out, dry them and then re wet them and press it into the paper. Learned this from Loll . I then used distress inks and a stencil to add stronger colour. After wiping the stencil (don't want to contaminate the gel) I added glass bead gel. Hope you like the sparkly texture of the beads.

Those beads look fantastic! I keep meaning to use some of my clear microbeads in an acrylic medium before splashing out on a tub of it - though I remember that when Winsor & Newton first introduced all their acrylic texture mediums, the glass bead gel always was my favourite.
Hmm, interesting about the paper too. I've sometimes used the actual paper on cards - but never used it as a way of applying the colour on it. It looks super.
