Dare to Get Dirty 2016 is such an amazing week and I've been looking forward to it all year! It is a great time to jump into challenges for those who haven't before or those of us who are returning after a hiatus. So if you aren't a Fan Club member head over HERE and read all about how to become one!
After being away from cardmaking for almost a whole year I kept it simple and fun. Using my favorite colors and some of my favorite techniques I got this little puppy pumped out while my little one was sleeping on grandma. (Hooray for babysitters!)
While I cannot tell you the theme for the card, I can say this - it was easy!
I created my own background by using Distress Ink in Broken China by first applying the ink via blending tool, then using a great splatter rubber stamp that I own, also in Broken China. The effect is quite interesting and a great background for Poppy (the image). The Lili of the Valley sentiment was stamped in black ink to add contast to all the lovely blues. After remembering that I had this new washi tape, which had the same colors and feel as Poppy, I just had to add it to the cardbase.
An easy peasy card for an easy peasy challenge! I hope you'll join us in all the excitement this week and just create to your heart's content!

Thank you so much for explanation of how you accomplished this really unique and attractive background. The combination of elements make this a really fun and well done card.
