A Father's Day card for my FIL. I actually managed to paint a background I'm proud of, so I can't bear to part with the original. I scanned it into Photoshop, added the sentiment, and printed it on watercolor paper. I traced over the sentiment with an embossing pen and used clear ep to add some shine to the sentiment.
I used a stitched rectangle die to cut the image to size, and matted it before attaching it to the card base.
As always, thanks for looking!

Your card says "serenity and peace" to me, Jody. Your painting is magnificent....and a great idea how to reproduce it, yet keeping the original. Your DH will be impressed and LOVE it.

You're forcing me to ask you ... can I come next week to learn how you do what you do? I'll be quite, promise. This is a wonderful copy of a glorious sky. Your FIL will love your work. who wouldn't?

LOVE this painting! What a great idea to make a copy! The grasses caught my eye on this one since it's so fine and natural looking. Love that sky- blended so well and looks like the real thing!

Beautiful painting for your bg, and I like that the bg is the main focus for the card. I often mention that we all need a wall in our homes where we frame and hang creations that we can't part with. I agree with you...this is a keeper.
