CAS380 = dots and stripes. Dots in the surf and stripes on the flip flops.
TLC589 = faux cloisonne. I die cut the flip flops from a catalog(didn't have a glossy magazine). I can see why glossy magazine paper was suggested....the matte paper of the catalog just soaked up the VM. : (

Matte page or not, those flip-flops look fab, Sallie! And I understand the problem, LOL. As I said in my write-up, all that was available to me were some of DH's older motorcycle magazines, in terms of glossies. And there's not a lot of colour in those. Love, love the edge of the surf and all the little white paint dots. I never thought about the matte paper absorbing the Versamark, I always assumed that the glossy finish was to emulate the enamelling in the cloisonne.

Sallie, you used a very cool design for those flip flops. Very summer like. And your beach and shoreline are perfect. I hope to get some time on the beach this week.

I love your card, with the dots on the sand, the stripes in the water, and the flip flops for the TLC challenge. I took your lead and did a combo on my card too. I have many things to do today so needed to cut some of my stamping time.

So fun! I love those flip-flops; I wouldn't mind having a pair that looked just like them. Perfect start-of-summer card!

I LOVE this card! Going into my favorites! The whole creation is wonderful, but I especially like that left flip-flop that has a little extra dimension showing.
