This is my card for this week's WTUI challenge - you can find out all about it here: WT586 ~ Roll Up!! Roll Up!! .
I had such fun making this! I saw a card in the gallery recently that had a ship sliding in and out of a bottle. No instructions and googling "ribbon slider" brought up mostly ribbon slider hardware, and the pull-treat type card, but with the help of my paper-engineering books I put this together. I knew I also wanted to use Circus Train, but with the balloon I couldn't make a card with the train extended to its full length, so I just clustered the wagons together as if they were on a fair-ground.
Images stamped with masking, and coloured with pencils. I sponged and stamped in the sky and foreground.
Stamped, coloured and cut out the balloon.
Stamped the sentiment.
For the slider, I cut two parallel slits from the bottom of the card to the top, a little wider than the ribbon I was planning to use. I have two little strips of paper folded around the "track" made by these two slots and stuck, so that they will slide freely up and down the track. One of these is stuck to the balloon, one to the basket. Then from the back of the card, I used glue to attach the ribbon itself to these two loops only. It's threaded through a slot at the top and bottom of the track, and each end is finished off with a little tab made with the Modern Label Punch.

Sabrina, I am speechless. This is so darn cute....lets add engineering to your long list of talents. The sponged bg looks fantastic and the circus train is adorablel, however, that sliding baloon is amazing. Pinned and faved.

Your card is quite marvelous, Sabrina. Wish this was a video so we could see the balloon "in flight." On top of your engineering marvel, it's beautifully colored and laid out. Straight into my favorites!

Sabrina this is incredible. The floating balloon is perfect for a circus and your images are adorable. What a fun challenge and what an incredible card for the challenge. I use to love going to the circus when I was a kid and this sure brings back great memories with this challenge today.
