A friend of ours is retiring and I started out to make a card but ended up doing this art piece that I'll put in a frame. I had made the mask back for a Mixability challenge and kept it with my stencils. It was cut from a magazine and coated with ModPodge. I used removable glue dots to hold it in place. Our friend is a guitarist for the worship team at our previous church and calls himself "the grey one" so this week's color combination was perfect. He also has a blog called Traveling the rock road. This also fits the Mixability Challenge by using wind for the spritzing and also water. With my mask in place I used my Spritzing tool to spray on some of the 3 colors with markers. I traced around the mask in pencil intending to erase later but forgot. Sponged around the mask with grey. Sprayed with white shimmer spray. Removedthe mask and added some paints through the mesh mixing black and silver. I dried this then scribbled my narkers on acetate then spritzed with water and used a brush to add in some color and also to shade more around the reverse masking. I die cut my letters and used my Xyron to adhere them. I cut down the size so I could back with an 8x10" sheet. I popped it into a frame before taking it to my friend's retirement party.

Won't the 'grey' retiree love this card. Hope you had a chance to see some of his other cards because I have to think this was definitely the most creative and germane to a retiring rock and roller. Very cool.
