Oops, I couldn't help myself...I had to dive into the Temperley site again BECAUSE I simply could not resist the Midi Belle Dress with those gorgeous Monstera leaves and Passion Flower Blossoms. The cutwork on that dress is over the moon, cool!
I reach for my island woman time and time again if you peruse my gallery. I love the pensive look on her face, I love the weathered wrinkles that she has earned from her years. Even her style of headdress. She was stamped with Memento so I could use a blend of Copics and Silk Acrylics for shimmer. The background was embossed with that bold Monstera leave folder from Sizzix. The Emily Dickinson quote acts as a hinge to hold the top panel in place. I added the floral die cuts and tied them with vintage seam binding that has aged all scuffy from years, not technique.
This will be a Mother's Day card for my dear Mimi. She has always always been my example for living.
Hope everyone is having a marvelous day. I am off to the garden until dark...then this IC gallery will light my night...see you back here.

Love this card, Susan! Not only is the image wonderful, the sentiment says something that should speak to all of us. The beautifully embossed background is perfect for your inspiration piece.
Enjoy your day playing in the dirt!

Love the quote, Susan, and your card is Perfectly inspired! Pretty ef full of monster leaves! It's too bad that so many women feel intimidated to look younger than what they are. Why can't everyone look the same~

Texture and design are two of my favorites, and words of truth and wisdom are the icing on the cake. Your card contans them all and iswell balanced with the repetition of leaves. The coloring of the woman's clothing is the strongest contrast that brings attention to that wonderful texture of time on this woman's face. Oh, if our society would just value them more. They are the marks of wisdom, experience, and battles endured or overcome. Your cards always make me think a little deeper. Love it.
