I made a card using the Layered Gesso Background tutorial for Judy's TLC last week. Someone commented that it had a beachy feel, and since I knew exactly what she meant, I thought I'd make a similar background with a real beach feel.
Following the tutorial I stamped the shells on the gessoed card, then painted over with Buff Titanium. I added some stencilled "ripples" with modelling paste - those were accented with copper metallic rub-on. I also added some Aged Teal chunky EP. I cut my panel into strips and edged each one with blue paint. Wrapped a strip of muslin round each strip and added some little specks of white paint.
The curved square is a remake of the one in my Summer Sampler; large shell stamped, coloured with pencils, masked, sandy background sponged in. This time I edged it with white ink and white EP. It's popped up on foam and decorated with some die-cuts, and to finish off I found some letter stickers which looked good.
