This is the birthday card for my grandson Lucas, who is turning thirteen in a few days. He's getting to the "guy" stage - it's getting difficult to make a card I'm sure he'll like. This Crazy Cat came to my rescue.
I stamped the cat first, removing the ink from the top of her head and ears so I could add the birthday hat. Next came the balloon. I masked it to stamp the string in just the right place where it would loop around her tail. I'm referring to a "her" because I colored the cat like one of mine - whose nickname is "Hurricane" Sadie. She's a mess!
After coloring the image and adding the greeting, I trimmed it to size and cut a panel of red two inches longer to form a flap at the top of the image panel.
To determine where to cut my circle, I placed the die over the image, gently placed the red layer on top and marked where the edges of the die extended. The red card front was die cut and the yellow border created using the same die and the next larger. I attached the flap to the image panel with Sookwang tape and adhered the circular border, trimming the excess. I added Glossy accents to the Balloon and the cat's eyes.
As always, thanks for looking!

The way you engineer your ideas is amazing! You always have an inventive way to create! I'd never have thought to do the image inside and have the window on the front! Love those cats and slowly losing my resistance to getting them!

Another Jody-masterpiece - those boys are hard once they hit a certain age, but I am sure Sadie will win Lucas's heart and elicit a chuckle or two when he opens this - Awesome planning to get the cut out window in JUST the right place!!

Your grandson will love it and I'm sure he treausres the cards you make personally for him. Since you have cats, I like how the cat is featured.....and a fun "boyish" cat it is.

Who wouldn't luv this card, no matter age or gender - this kitties expression is just funny! I wonder if most recipients of our cards have any idea how much time we spend creating them - a lot of steps just to make a beautiful CAS design!
