Dina gave a great challenge this week with putting something with a wing. I played with this little bird earlier in the week and it was sitting out and I knew I had to use it. I stamped the bird and branch with black stazon ink. I colored him and the branches in with two different colored markers. I fussy cut the image out. Several years ago I was at Hobby Lobby and in the silk flowers department there was a floral filler that kinda looked like baby's breath. It was on sale only $1, so I bought it because I thought it would be fun to use on a card. I have been cutting and using little pieces of it on my cards. It was basically little styrofoam balls on green threads that were wrapped around wire. I found out that I could cut the clumps out. When I glued them to the branches, I really liked how lacy and realistic it looked. I curved the branches before gluing down the ends to give them depth. What I was happiest about this card is the little birds eye. If you would like to see a close up of it check out My Blog. I took hot glue and made a dot for his eye. I colored the dot with a black sharpie marker. Then I took a dot of white acrylic paint and made a little highlight. The other mixed media on my card is the textiles. That is an often overlooked media. I used two different types of lace, ribbons and cheesecloth. I made my card into a gate fold card as one of the options of the Dina's challenge. It used dp, under all that lace and cheesecloth that had words. I hope you enjoyed reading about how I made my card. Have a blessed day.

Good buy on those white berries...one of the first things I noticed besides the pretty, puffed up bird. You've used so any wonderful embellishments. I love cheesecloth and glad I used it today. You've made a wonderful gatefold card. I did take a look on your blog and saw it opened (and the bird's eye...good job).

Oh my goodness you made another amazing shabby chic card. This one is just as stunning. Love the layering and that amazing lace and the great fold. Those flowers are such a stunning piece of finish on this stunning card. So detailed. Thank you for joining in on my challenge and creating a second card.
