well, my dear mr. Sun showed up for the Brighten the Grey challenge today, Sabrina. And he's happy to spread the heavy grey clouds and let a few rays shine down.
Loved your challenge...I really wanted to float a yellow submarine straight into the gallery. This was made in layers with the sun done first. I used clear gesso to protect the Sun and then stamped the clouds and rain many times. Some of the clouds were painted with twinkling H2O's interference blue. And I used the ColourArte Silk paints in washes of grey.
The sun was UTEE'ed for dimension.
The frame for the sentiment was embossed and overstamped. I scribbled Gelatos onto the white space of the frame blended and then stamped the sentiment.
The positive message of bringing your own sunshine certainly brightens all the grey we have out on the left coast.
Thanks for stopping by.

What a happy cheerful Mr Sun, Susan!! Your grey sky is so beautiful, though, that it hardly needs brightening ;-). The interference blue must look wonderful IRL, I know that it's even harder to capture that in a photo than the regular twinkle. Great sentiment too, a typically wise and provoking one from your repertoire.

So many techniques, your card is a tutorial in creativity. Thanks for playing in the VSN.

Very pretty card, and perfect sentiment to try to live by!
