This spring the white blooms on our Bradford pear have attracted swarms of tiny monarch butterflies. They are so beautiful and are the smallest I can remember seeing. Those butterflies led me to the little thing, the think 3, and the to die for challenges. I cut TE die cut tree from CC, LL and paper pieced. Punched out 4 sets of triple flower punch in white and glued some mica flakes on for texture. Used modeling paste died with CC ink in SU tulip border EF. Heat embossed the 3 butterflies with a blend of tangerine tango, gold, and iridescent EP from SU on black card stock. Fussy cut and popped Made 3 paper quilled little ducks in a tiny sponged pond. Added SU ribbon. Stacked 3 of each of the labels and stamped the sentiment it's the little things. I wanted to put it in the spring critters challenge but there is no way this card could be considered CAS.

Oh, totally delightful! We have a gallery for quilling, so I'm going to pop this in there to inspire other people - it still shows in your own gallery too. Those little ducklings are just so sweet swimming in their little pond. The tree is great too with its trio of butterflies. The mica flakes must look even more lovely in real life.
I was hearing something about monarchs on the radio just the other day - maybe that last year was a very bad year for them? Not that we have them here, alas.
