It has been a busy few months and my mind has been focused on stuff I have to do....this prevents my usual creative process where my mind just starts to wander down various paths in my head and a card idea pops up. Earlier in the week, my usually housebroken dog had an accident on the kitchen floor. Not wanting to focus on that task, my mind did wander and I had the start of this card....the card has nothing to do with dog poop, that is just what started the creative process. The boot was only facing one direction, and since I wanted a pair of boots, I had a problem. Lacking the computer skills of some of you amazing techie types (actually, I lack the technical ability of most 5 year olds), I printed the boot on computer paper, taped it to the window, traced the image on the back, and printed it onto card stock. I printed slightly larger versions and colored them black for the shadow. When I saw this week's WT challenge to use humor, I added the computer generated sentiment "when it rains on your parade, wear really cute boots". The MIX challenge gave me the idea to draw my own cow animal print background. Finally, when I was 8, whenever all 5 of us kids were crammed into the family car to go somewhere , the radio blasted Nancy Sinatra singing "These boots are made for walking". I sure did want a pair of white go go boots. So, I included this in this month's CTO216 gallery for the theme "songs from the heart". I am off to my SaT morning discussion group followed by my exercise walk. I will be back to catch up on this week's gallery and comments. TFL, Francie

I'm sorry about poor Dolly! Now I can hear the song - way, way back when I used to help with a teen youth club we always had a karaoke night once a year, and some songs instantly transport me back to that old church hall - this is one! Great work with the mirroring - and tech savvy as I am, sometimes I think there's nothing to beat a good bright window and old-fashioned pencil and paper. Adding the shadows was a great idea, too. What a fun and fabulous pair of boots. So happy to see you at the tea-party this week. I'm glad you had an idea AND time to make it.

Francie, your process methodologies are wonderfully fun and interesting. I'm on your team. For most of us, we just pull out an image and go to work. Not you, girl. Each card has a story behind it which makes it all that much more intriguing. I so appreciate your not being tech savvy and these boots were made for walking. Now, this here card, is a hoot with your usual bold colors and designs.

Great job on those boots, they look comfortably worn and loved. You have such a knack with vivid, bright colors and the lasso is the perfect finishing touch. Glad you had some creative think time, in spite of how it started!

Love the western flair you added, once you got the second boot done - they say necessity is the mother of invention, and you sure stepped up (pun intended) with the way you created this pair! I remember that song of Nancy Sinatra's too, and love the way you added the cow print in the BG - Bet Mutnik is going to be showing Curt the Cow this card!!
