One look at the color combo gallery this morning and the dissatisfaction started to set in. I am sure you can relate to the feelings. "I wish I had something new." "I wish I had new stamps... new inks... new embellishments... new dies...etc" "ANYTHING NEW!" I was feeling kinda sad. I decided that I would choose to be happy with what I have. I made a decision to use an older set. I bought this set probably 8-9 years ago. When I bought it, I am sure that I thought. "I NEED THIS." "I WILL MAKE LOTS OF CARDS WITH THIS SET." I probably used it only a few times. I decided to do paper tole. I stamped it several times. I watercolored, cut and layered. I added glitter to the centers. After working with these flowers today, I felt contentment settling in. If you would like to see more photos of this card you can check it out on MY BLOG

this is gorgeous Marilyn-love the paper tole and the overall look of your card-I liked reading your thoughts and how you came to grips with your feelings and took charge of your thought life

Wow, MariLynn! Thanks for the story! So encouraging! We all feel restless sometimes but you created another masterpiece with something you already had. I had my third pack of cheesecloth (because I put my other two in a "safe place") on my desk but forgot to use it. Next time! There is so much to look at on your beautiful card, I keep scrolling up!

Awww MariLynn don't feel bad, I haven't bought any new stamps in I cant tell you how long....hehehehe I figured I have all this stuff in my craft room, I need to use it. I just pulled out some oldies that I want to use in the challenges, so will be working with those. I also pulled out my HC stamps from 2010/2011.
You did an AMAZING job on your flowers, and I LOVE them, so you will have to use this set more often now! Birthday/anniversarys/get well, so on Beautiful centers too!
Awesome job on the challenge hun!

What a beautiful work of art! Love your flowers! Yes, I fall into the category of "wishing I had something new". Hats off to you for using something you already had! Sometimes you just have to get those older stamps out to bring on the creativity!

Wow, I am so glad you became content again after making this card! See stamping is good therapy! I keep buying new things and never getting around to using half of it. And I become very upset at myself for continuing to buy! But I always get sucked in to the "I need that stamp" or whatever it is. I need to follow your example and be happy with what I have. Your card is gorgeous! I love the paper tole flowers and the cheese cloth layer. All of the elements come together in a lovely way!

You should indeed fell a sense of contentment--even pride--at having created this beauty! I love the dimensional flowers, the use of this week's colors, and all the interesting elements behind the flowers! Stunning card! Fave'd!
