I wanted to attention this challenge on Sat as i was supposed to be out all day today. Plans fell through and then we had sad news. I thought this challenged fit my idea for a card from our association for a young man we ask supported and encouraged in his fight against drug addiction. He was alone in the world except for us, but we weren't enough. I am so sad.
I used the sketch, though slightly embellished by use of the yellow vellum border with punched out hearts. The sentiments are from a gorgeous song by Jimmy Scott - "Wins of a Butterfly" ( inside verse: "Now you can fly, Now you can soar"). I printed the beautiful musical butterfly, fussy cut it, and then cut a duplicate from vanilla cd. I inked the vanilla cd butterfly with wax paper, crumpled, and baked brown sugar ink (I wanted a crumpled effect but didn't want to actually crumple the paper). I did the same on the vanilla layer and also did the edges. Die cut the sentiments i had printed and backed with the eggplant paper. Cut small piece of eggplant paper for a hook, and used burlap thread to hang the key to heaven and heart on. Attached the Butterflies with foam Dimensionals. TFL

I am so sorry for the sad news. Makes me sad, too, even though I have never been acquainted with this young man.
Your butterfly is outstanding. What a beauty.
