At the mall recently I noticed that a lot of the women’s spring fashions feature navy & coral. This color combination inspired me as I stamped over the weekend. I looked through my CS and chose Night of Navy for the navy (a no-brainer there!), but for the coral I struggled a little bit. I ended up using Groovy Guava for a few cards, and Cameo Coral for the others. Groovy Guava seemed a little orangy; Cameo Coral seemed a little brighter than the coral I’ve been seeing at the stores – maybe Crisp Cantaloupe would’ve been perfect, but of course I DON’T HAVE THAT!! Oh well. “Work with what you’ve got.” (Calypso Coral seemed too red/poppy-ish; Blushing Bride was nice but too pale for what I was going for.)
This card uses Best Year Ever DSP that features Calypso Coral in it. In this case, the color was washed-out a little, so it was light enough to achieve the look I was going for.
