This is for IC532. I don't know about any of you, but as I scrolled down that board, those repeating images of fingers took on a very weird quality. Kind of creepy, no? But it really is amazing what people are doing to their nails. I am not going to bother linking to any one picture because there was so much gold all over the place that I think you get the idea where my jumping off point was. I immediately saw Gold EP on vellum, because vellum is translucent like fingernails, so I did the flowers (only attaching them at their centers so they would create dimension) and then decided to add the matching leaves in green vellum. Of course there were jewels aplenty as well, so I added those, and then added more of them to fill in some empty spots. Once I'd finished my focal piece, it looked very formal to me, so I tried to frame it out in a way that would tone that down, since I don't tend to do confectionary style cards. The gingham took it into homespun, so I added the Kraft lace and used a Kraft base to tug it away from an excess of sweetness, and added the leaf sprays underneath for balance. I know, TMI, you don't need a blow by blow of my thought process. Just glad I finished it before next week.
TFL!

This is really pretty! The gold embossed vellum flowers are beautiful! And of course I can see why you had to add jewels with all those bejeweled nails (your comments are a hoot...yes, I can see the weirdness of all the nail pics..lol). I like the gingham bg...I don't know that I would call it homespun but perhaps more classic. It's a lovely contrast to the elegance of the gold flowers.

WOW Robin! This is gorgeous! I do love the combination of elegance with that gingham. This is outstanding and those gold embossed flowers are just beautiful! I was just reloading all my subscriptions since I received no notice and once again, accidentally deleted them and SO glad I saw this beauty!
