My hometown has a lot going for it - and one of the things that is fun is the War Eagle Mill. Some history and events that are there is listed on the back of the card- this is what it says: A little bit of history:
War Eagle Mill, Arkansas. War Eagle Mill is a working gristmill in Benton County, Arkansas. A mill has been located on the site as early as 1832, but was destroyed three times, and last rebuilt in 1973. The mill currently operates as an undershot gristmill, and houses a store and restaurant. The mill is located approximately 10 miles east of the city of Rogers in War Eagle, Arkansas.
An Added Note by Jan leslie:
It is a popular place that host craft shows many times a year. Crafters flock to this spot from all over the United States to show their unique talents and crafts. Among the crafts are; Wood Carvers; Leather Crats; Glass Blowers; Metal Pieces and Tools; Quilts & Afghans; Sweets and so much more!
There is a mill store; where they sell their own grain they mill. There is a restaurant on sight as well. The bridge gives the water underneath a beautiful view of the waterfalls and scenery. It is a fun place for the whole family!!

I'd love to see a real life mill working. We tried to visit one in France one year but it was closed on the day we were in the area. It sounds like a great place to visit with all those craft activities - I'd love to see the quilts, and the glass-blowing.

I loved your description of this mill; it sounds like a wonderful place to wander around for an afternoon! That is a gorgeous picture of it you found and your die cut music staff looks beautiful across the upper corner.

Jan, this sounds like the perfect place to spend a day. It's always enjoyable to see the local craftsmen, artists displaying their works. The bridge is perfect for the mill. Thanks for sharing you little corner of the world, and it sure is a winner. TFS

I have just driven my 'google' car over that very bridge! I just love Google Earth, it takes me everywhere! I had a good look round too. Thanks for this little bit of history Jan x

I have almost been through your town. We have been to Branson a few times in the last 5 years or so and I have always hoped to stop in War Eagle on the way back. But have never been yet when the craft shows were going on. That is what I would really like to come for, but you do have some beautiful scenery in your area. I love your card. Anything with a water driven mill is worth looking at in my book! Nice design you used, too!
