Well, it certainly is unusual for me to make a Christmas card as my first for the year but, seeing this challenge called for snow, a Christmas card it is! Here in Australia, of course, we are in our Summer and the weather is beautiful but quite humid!
I started with this sweet image, recycled from a card I received a few years ago. Believe me, this image is set in the snow with snowflakes falling - I hope you can see - my DH wouldn't believe me when he looked (he had had a glass red wine!!).
I framed this image, using a negative die cut I had lying around, and sprayed with the glimmer mist. Once dry, I lightly sponged frame with gumball green inkpad. I then coated gumball green c/s with a thin layer of gesso and, before drying, used a sponge to give a snowy kind of look.
Added the red ribbon, green sticky dot and sentiment. I also lightly distressed edges.
TFL!

Terrific card, Sue! Like the sponged snow bkgrd and the glittery frame. Great way to up-cycle this sweet image. Hope your New Year will be filled with love, laughter, hope, good health, and many blessings, my friend.

I love this card! A fantastic job of upcycling an old card. That image is precious. I love the shimmer you gave to the frame and even the background complements the rest without overpowering it. A fantastic card!

This is so adorable Sue!! I can see the sparkle that you have created. I love the way you recycled the card - such a great thing to do. Perhaps creating this cooled you down a bit. Wishing you a Happy New Year!!

Oh, Sue, this is beautiful, and I love the glimmer you've added! What a sweet image - I can see why you wanted to recycle the card. How funny that even after wine you DH saw the glimmer! Yes, we are in South Florida and are still in the 70's at night and 80's in the day. Hope you chill done some! Hugs!

Beautiful work re-purposing an old card, Sue! I used an old calendar page for mine ;-). And it's great to start the year by putting a card by for Christmas 2016. I see the falling snow in the image, and I love the soft shimmer of your background.

Beautiful snowy image - doesn't look much like snow here! More like rain we hope. Great way to recycle old Cards and give them a new life again. Take care and hope you have a very Happy New Year.
