 | | I wanted to try this week's techique from the Inkling: Texture Pressing. I've done it with shrink plastic and fun foam - but they definitely add bulk to the card.
I used modelling paste, stamped my script and left it to dry while I collected a parcel from the post office.
When I came home, I added some metallic rub-ons from Craft-T, and distressed and sponged the edges.
Looking through my box of spare backgrounds I pulled out the vellum one (En Francais, stamped and embossed), and a piece of card which had been sprayed with various Brusho acrylic mists, and had some chunky EP on it.
To attach the vellum, I braved using a sparkly polyster thread which is horrible because it breaks a lot, and got away with only one break despite using a fancy stitch. I stamped butterflies on the offcut strip of the base layer and punched them out to add to the texture panel.
Flower is stamped twice on vellum and layered.
This is the weird thing - I had over a metre of cheesecloth in my kitchen drawer, and recently I left out to bring up to the attic. It was nowhere to be found in either place this afternoon - so I stamped my cheesecloth stamp onto off-white tissue paper, embossed it with Seafoam White ep and crumpled it up. The flower is finished with Stickles. |
