Oh, Karen, I can almost feel the tropical island breeze with your color challenge today. Too bad I am headed back to work after a lovely 12 days away, I'd take my shoes off and walk a beach somewhere! Thanks for the inspiration challenge makers.
I've had this piece of gelli print for several years. I'd made a homemade gelli plate and experimented ONCE. I must admit, I did enjoy playing but it is such a messy undertaking and one that needs a lot of space in the studio. I have a wonderful studio; however it is not big enough to support all my bunny trails, if you follow my thoughts. When I came across this print, it was pear~fect for todays CC.
I inked the sentiment:
one of the advantages
of being disorderly is
that one is constantly
making exciting new
discoveries.
It was a new discovery that this print would be the base of my CC card. I added the sentiment on top, stamping in the VersaFine Lagoon and embossing with clear ep. Yeah for dessert! To add a bit more of the Indigo Island, I used the felt cut into scallops and colored with Copics. It is stapled to the bottom with Lost Lagoon{ish} colored staples. The paints made for the gelli print are those colors along with the pear pizazz. The watercolored print was zigzagged with sewing shears and torn across the top for more visual interest.
Hope everyone is feeling the island breezes. Have a happy day. Thanks for stopping by.

This is great!!!!! I had the wonderful experience of making homemade Gelli Plates in Texas with Lydia, Jeanne and Tex! I must say that the gelatin was quite smelly and i've purchased a printing plate since then! Glad you got to use your background!

Susan, I'm always impressed how you just don't make pretty cards....but create cards with a deeper meaning and/or message. It's obvious that you are a person of purposeful thinking.

True! True! True! I read your sentiment, my mouth dropped and wave of something WARM enveloped me. I felt like I discovered myself. I love it, as it's how I live life. Always new discoveries and so many times they are right on my craft table, but I see them in a different light. Thanks Susan!
