I started this over a year ago. I tried the faux wood, didn't like, white washed it, still didn't like it. Stamped it with hedi swapp wood, still didn't like it. Used a UK wood background and embossed it. Still wasn't happy, cut it apart. Today it became an anniversary card for my hubby in a few days.
He loves to fish. He is the Master Baiter of our pond. Lol
My techniques are faux wood, white washing! And fussy cutting. The glitter is wink of Stella on the fish but it doesn't really show in the picture. My rags to riches challenge contribution. Hope you like it.

Had to laugh at your title....and maybe that's what you meant....when you run the words together, something else(a little naughty) comes to mind! ; ) Great card for the fisherman/husband. ; )

I bet there just couldn't be a better card for your fisherman hubby. I'm glad you kept this and finished it. It turned into an outstanding creation.

Dang, I almost snorted wine out my nose when I read the title of your card!!!! Almost did it again when I read a description of your design process - are we clones? I thought I was the only one who could work on a card for a year or more, trying different things and continually rejecting new efforts.
That being said, it was worth the wait on your card. It is so stinkin' cute!!!! Love all the texture and tiny details. And I am in awe at that super cool sentiment panel in the upper left corner. It looks like a real, beat up wood sign, but better. Love this card and I'm sure your DH will, too. Congrats on a great card and on your anniversary!

What a hoot this is, Tonda. That's quite a story you've got there, girl. I guess you're a perfect case study of why it's okay to persevere even if it takes you a year. How fun the end result is. Goodness, it's just so perfect for your DH and your anniversary. Congratulations. How's that brand new little baby doing? Merry Christmas, Tonda.
