I have been playing with this technique recently and finally figured out today how to use it as the bg.
For this card I `smacked down' the flower stamp with light pink dye ink first , which simply means I stamp it once and then keep on stamping (without re-inking) around the first image until all the ink is removed from the stamp. Light pink bg alone looked really dull, so I did the technique again with yellowish-orange ink on top of it. I adhered this to a glossy purple cs.
For the sentiment bg, I stipled with yellow and dark pink inks, heat embossed the sentiment and again adhered it to the same glossy cs.
Added a fussy cut butterfly which I stamped in plum color ink and colored it with golden gelato.
Attached everything to the base cs and to give the final touch, added glitter on the base bg and red glitter on the butterfly.
