For MIX 146. I know I probably could have done way more to doll this up but, frankly, I was so tired after the incredible effort it required to color in that cupcake (and how poignantly sad a comment is that?) that I decided not to tempt fate and do anything to ruin things. The BG was done on a Gelli plate some weeks ago, the torn papers used on that B&W band were part of some washi paper that I had stamped and stuck in a bag in my BG bin.
In a way, this unadorned card might be a good thing - I don't have many "guy cards" in my stash and even a sequin could take it across the border to girly-land. Okay, that makes me feel better.

I just LOVE that background. It almost looks like something organic, and the colours in it are amazing - it looks good enough to eat, never mind the cupcake. I also love the way the torn edges of the the black and white stripe make it blend into the gelli print, so that it actually looks as if it were part of it.

Love how your cupcake looks. That gelli plate background is awesome. I love how well the black and white checkerboard goes with the black and white stripes on the candles.

Everything about this is fabulous. The Gelli plate background with the torn paper trim looks terrific. The time you spent colouring your cupcake was well worth it - gorgeous!

That bg is very cool Robin! You do gelli printing very well. And your washi paper middle is perfect to add more pizazz to the card. You're right about a cupcake card not generally being for a guy but this does work really well....love the wonky candles.

Robin, I spewed diet coke through my nose reading your hilarious description! Your background is fabulous! I sure don't understand how you call this plain! This is SO unique and fun it's heading right into favorites! I love everything you have going on in that background!
