I love this old image by the famous illustrator, Thomas Nast. It makes me think of a story my DH told me, from when he was little. Unbeknownst to him, his Grandfather called him every year as Santa, and checked up on whether or not he was being good. DH said he never tumbled to the fact that it was Grandfather!
Communication? How would you like to be on the phone with Santa!!

We use to tell our little guy when we visited the Christmas tree farm in New York that we were going to visit Santa and stay at Santa's house because one of my DH uncles and his grandfather both look like a skinny version of Santa. It is great to have those wonderful tales from when you are a kid. Super story to go with your darling image and wonderful card.

LOL! What a funny story, Anne! Love this image..so old fashioned & wonderful. And I love the old telephone..I have a real thing for old telephones.
Don't think I've ever heard of Santa calling anyone. That's a new one to me. My dad just told us Santa "knew" & warned us of a sack of coal if were naughty. One year, I'm thinking he probably should have stuck to that. Santa gave my brother a kids tool set & he promptly removed every door knob in the house. We learned a lot of new words from my dad that year.

It would be amazing to get a phonecall from Santa! What a lovely story and memory - thanks for sharing those as well as your wonderful card, Anne. And thanks for letting me know the feathers arrived .

So Sweet, Anne! I Love all your gold trimming!
I have a story: I used to write Christmas letters to Santa for my 10 year younger brother each year. After a few days I'd write one back to him from Santa, go check the mailbox and hand him the envelope~ Memories are so much fun!
