This is for Dina's fun MIX challenge. I had some water coloured paper left over after Robin's F4A challenge, so I went to get the paper and the wreath, that is when I remembered I had taken the wreath outside to get an arty-outdoorsy photo like Roberta takes.
I found the little bird and branch floating in the the dog bowl (we don't have dogs, the magpies like to bath in it). I digress, the wreath was under a tree with a big splattering of bird pooh.
I removed the offending section of the wreath and sprayed dissinfectant on the remaining part. I then used a heat gun to dry it.....magicically it made the leaves about 10 shades lighter in colour than they originally were.
I then turned the salvaged piece into a card and a bag. Whew crisis averted!!
Thank you for looking and have a great weekend.

Oh my, sis, I love the story and was so sad to hear about your sweet wreath! Bird pooh, eh? Yuck! Glad you disinfected the "remains!" But, wow! What beautiful shades of leaves! And you made a great gift bag and fabulous card, and I love the burlap!! Thanks for the chuckle - you always delight us all!! Hugs!

Oh my goodness, love the colors of these leaves--so realistically colored!!! I need to play a lot more with distress inks. I love that card!!! Love the little sparklers and the cool netting, so inspired, my friend. You are amazing!!!

Wow, these are beautiful Susie! I loved the story that you told behind your project. So interesting that the disinfectant made the leaves darker when you dried them off. We have bird baths specifically for magpies too - plus we have 2 ducks that visit us every day (well, several times a day LOL!) and they have a bath in the water bowls. Thanks for your comment on my Halloween card & for your encouragement - so I added my card into the MIX & F4A challenges too.

You are TOO FUNNY, Susie. That gorgeous wreath that I would have paid a baby fortune for...is GONE?? Just disinfected pieces left! : ( Well, you made a lovely gift tote ensemble. Looks like the swag could be detached and worn as a tiara with a Goddess of Autumn Bounty costume. : )

You are the QUEEN of salvaging, Susie!! This little set of bag and card is SO AUTUMNAL-ly gorgeous! I agree with Sallie that the Goddess of Autumn would be after this creation in a heartbeat!! The burlap brings out the beautiful colors of your leaves - I will have to remember your tip for darkening colors with disinfectant spray!! HUGS!
PS - got a couple cards uploaded FINALLY!!

So sorry to hear about your having to dismember your Gorgeous wreath and de-pooh it. What a shame! But what a Glorious save. These 2 creations are really wonderful! Great job!
