This is for Gail’s HYCCT Challenge – Relationships Matter. I am inspired to participate in HYCCT each year in memory of my mother who passed from cancer 18 years ago. For this challenge, I thought a card for a mother would honor her. I used the Color Challenge and the desert of pearls which I thought was excellent for a mother’s card. The Bermuda layer is textured CS, the Coral layer is embossed; the flower layer is speckled with Bermuda Bay then matted with Eggplant, and raised up. I stamped and punch one sentiment and raised it. The second sentiment was stamped on a thin strip. I scored two lines on each side in order to bend the ends and elevate it up and over the raised flower panel. I’m so glad to fit both sentiments on my card. I was motivated to get the Blessed Mother stamp set because of the lovely words and I liked the script font, too. If one of my kids gave me a card that had these words during a difficult time, I would be so touched & probably shedding happy tears. Thanks for looking. I hope you are enjoying the weekly challenges and the HYCCT each day in October.
What nice color combinations and the speckling on the flower just ties it all together. A very pretty card. I would also cry if I received a card like this from my kids.
I don't think we ever get over the loss of our Mamas, no matter how long it has been.

Pretty use of the color challenge combo with so much pretty texture and dimension. How fitting to make this in honor of your mother! Thanks for playing along in my challenge!

Lovely card in honour of your mother! We never forget that loss. Your embossed background panel looks wonderful behind that pretty image. I like the way you did the sentiment like a bridge anchored by pearls.

This card is so beautiful, Diane, and doubly so because of the thought that went into it, as well as your personal history. You have really poured your heart into this work of art!
