This is another for Lori's HYCCT Challenge to use the Ombre effect. I'm also hitting another couple of challenges. I took MariLynn up on the challenge to use nail polish yesterday and tried my hand at making wire and polish flowers. I peeked through the Inspiration Challenge Pinterest board and found this pretty illustration which brought my fun flowers to mind and also featured an ombre look.
I diecut my watercolor paper circle and grabbed a felt applicator to add my beautiful purple color (one of my favorite retired colors). I inked my plants with Versamark then more Concord and then embossed them in clear ep. I tried my hand at adding waterdrops with Marker and pencil. At one point I tried to use a wet brush to pull off a little color and ended up with a weird area of color so I took my blender pen to spread the colors around again and ended up like this effect. I added pencil highlights and shading around the plants along with some waterdroplets in there too. I used white pencil in the center of my ombre effect. I took my nail polish flower and colored the stem with a Sharpie and used Glossy Accents to glue it on. I used the same over my droplets. I embossed my sentiment in clear and added an accent bow.
Are you playing along with us? If not, you're missing out on the chance to lift the spirits of women battling breast cancer at MD Anderson, and also on prizes from your favorite crafty companies. So what are you waiting for? Go stamp something pretty!
