I was so fascinated with Dina's beautiful card today that I went to her blog post to read about negative painting. On the blog she used a Gelli print so that's what I went with. It has shades of purple and also some pink. It also has French Flair stamped in blue acrylic paint. I used a pencil to trace out my butterfly shape. I then took a paint dauber and dipped a wet brush and applied the blue paint all around the pencil lines. After this was dry I took my fingers and added white paint over parts of the blue. (This is where it meets Dina's HYCCT Challenge to lend a hand!) I tore mini pieces of the sheet music to add to the bg. For the butterfly, I used a Wisteria marker to darken the body and then used my Soft Sky and some Grey to add shading around the butterfly. I wet a brush and painted the water in the shape of antennae then scraped off some of the paint there. You can't see in the picture, but I've added glitter highlights with my Gelly Roll pen. I bought this sentiment with HYCCT challenges in mind and used the chalkboard technique adding Melon Mambo instead of whiteep to the word "strengthen." (Glad I used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment because the clear stamp wasn't grabbing the craft ink very well so I stamped a couple more times with more ink) I then fussy cut it and lightly distressed the edges before popping it onto the panel. I distressed my print and added some twine and a clip. My left hand piece is a bubble wrap Gelli transfer onto clear packing tape with some newsprint transferred too. I threw a couple more torn pieces of colored paper on there for good measure and then the tiny rosette flowers (from an SU kit). Used an A7 Melon Mambo base so I could keep more of my print exposed.

Ohhh YAYY - I love this technique so much, and I'm so happy to see you trying it! It works great with gel prints and acrylics. Love the butterfly! Thank you so much for playing along with my challenge and for supporting Hope You Can Cling To!
