This is for Dina’s wonderful HYCCT challenge to use orange – a color that represents creativity and emotional strength. Also, it is a color of motivation, determination, courage and optimism. Oh! That explains why the main wall at my work-out gym is painted bright orange! It’s also a perfect color for the HYCCT card drive. I received this ship image from Ann (Dockside). During last year’s HYCCT, we exchanged images that we had seen in each other’s gallery. I knew if I didn’t need them before October, I would definitely be using them for HYCCT. A bright orange sunset with orange in the sails seemed to say to me, “Have the determination & courage to keep sailing”. The background was sponged in oranges and browns. The sentiment edges were distressed and sponged. A compass embellishment coordinates with the sentiment - “We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails”. Thank you Ann for all you sent to me last year and for inspiring my card this year. Thank you, Dina for giving us such a fun and inspiring challenge. Orange is a great color. I hope you’re enjoying the challenge to use it.

Wow! This looks marvellous! I love that glowing sky and the sails so full of light! This goes into my favourites so I can case it later. I have alway been pretty literal colouring that image and I think your version is fantastic! I've always thought that was a great sentiment for HYCCT. Glad to see it here. :-)

I love how you pulled some blues into your scene as well as the gorgeous oranges - that sky is beautiful! The background pulls it all together with the neutral and nautical map theme. Thank you so much for playing along with my challenge and for supporting Hope You Can Cling To!
