So excited that HYCCT is finally here! Lydia's challenge to kick us off asks us to depict our least favorite kind of weather. I'm OK with snow (kind of have to be when you live in the Midwest!) but it kicks it up to another level when you add in ice. When we lived in VA ice storms were even more common-limbs shattering, power lines going down and treacherous road conditions. We go with whatever life throws us because we have to, but I'd rather not deal with ice!
I inked up my stamps using markers so I could have the base lines be gray and the trees their natural colors. I then used my glitter pen to add snow. I took a brush and added Crystal Effects to the trees and snow to simulate the ice (note to self-make sure your paintbrush is completely clean next time-got some reddish tints in my ice!). I sponged in some sky and kept it bare like the trees!
Are you playing along with us? If not, you're missing out on the chance to lift the spirits of women battling breast cancer at MD Anderson, and also on prizes from your favorite crafty companies. So what are you waiting for? Go stamp something pretty!

ooh Ice is not fun, our son is finding out being stationed there and last winter that was his number one complaint was how bad the other drivers were during the season. (and how bitterly cold it was) the ice looks so pretty like this from my view though.

Fantastic job adding the ice in on the trees. Oh you are so right, ice storms are so bad and you did an amazing job putting it on your card to make it beautiful.

Love how you added the snow to your tree!! Icy cold is probably not a favorite of mine either, except we don't get cold or icy very often. So I picked downpours and severe rainstorms as my least favorite of the weather we do have a lot in my area.
