This is for Misti's fun CAS challenge "Apples". Thanks to the encouragement and advice from Nancy CAS Littrell, I actually enjoyed making this card.
If I hadn't made this with my own hands, I wouldn't have known it was mine LOL. My favourite apples are Granny Smiths, but green is too hard for me to colour!!
I stamped Tweetie using Fired Brick (red) Distress Ink. I then smacked the ink pad onto a piece of aluminium foil and squirted a tiny amount of water in one corner. This gave me lots of shades of the one colour.
To get the darker shadow, I blended a tiny bit of walnut stain distress ink into the red ink. Walnut stain was used with a stencil.
I started out with a 4" square of hession...then I heard Nancy's voice (in my head, with an Australian accent of course) telling me "less is more"....so I pulled a few loose strands and the job is done!
Thank you for looking.

Ohmygoodness! I've seen your crazy birds with llllooooonnnnnggggggg black and white legs and fancy boots, and now with no legs? An apple a day keeps the bird crazy.
Still grinning.

I was just going to pin some CAS cards on Pinterest in the hopes that some transformation would happen while I slept, when I saw your awesome card. I LOVE IT! I pinned it right to my CAS board. Tweetie looks just like a shiny red delicious apple. Super creative card.

I'm Speechless!!!!!!! What have you been sniffing?
Just kidding.....this is so un-dohickied and legless that I thought I was in the wrong Gallery. Very, very Cute!!! I would guess this little Tweetie is probably an undercover Secret Agent in full regalia looking for the bad apple in the bunch. I'll bet though that he was complaining a little bit as he was getting into this outfit...it does look a little confining...and I'm thinking those leaves may itch a little.
Seriously, LOVE the birdie and especially the background and the strands! What a Perfect touch!

Ha, ha! I love this! Is this the apple in the bottom of the crisper waiting to go bad? :-) Your stencilled background is wonderful and the strands of burlap are the perfect perch for your crazy apple. TFS
