So I am officially in Halloween mode! Here is a card I made that is kinda large but I've always loved large 3-D cards so - Why Not!?! I used one of my all time favorite SU sets and had a blast!
I sketched two pumpkins on my Pumpkin Pie card stock and cut one into sections for the front that I could distress. I inked each section with Pumpkin Pie and Walnut Stain (as well as the edge of the back piece of the card). After glueing the front sections together, I sketched two tops (with the chimney attached) and used my gelatos (Black, Chocolate, Butterscotch & Coconut) to colour. I wanted the lines to have more definition so after the gelatos dried I went over the lines with my SU journal marker. The vines and leaves were sketched out (the leaves and stems were done separately) and traced with my Green Galore marker, than coloured with my gelatos Green Tea, Lemon and then edged with Walnut Stain, Forest Moss & Black Soot. The windows & door were cut out on Summer Sun card stock and then brushed with So Saffron & Walnut Stain.
The stamp set was stamped using Versamark and than embossed using SU black powder. They were all coloured with my SU & Copic markers. The bat, spider, witches clothes & Dracula's bow tie & vest were brushed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Icicle & Huckleberry.
The lamppost, signs and 'wood' panels were cut out on my Big Shot using Tim Holtz Alterations - Holiday Lamppost & Tattered Banners. The signs were made tracing two banners together (I needed wider panels) and the window & door frames are just the banners cut into smaller sizes. I made each 'wood' panel three times tracing the original each time so the bottom panels kept getting bigger & bigger, which was great when I glued three pieces together because as I inked each finished piece using all four of my Tim Holtz distress inks, I got more dimension along the edges.
The Lamp Post was cut out of a recycled fajita box and painted with Black Gesso, than Mars Black acrylic paint, then brushed with TA Icicle Glimmer Mist. For the inside of the lamp I used watered down Lemon gelato and then brushed with Silks Iridescent Gold.
I used pop up dots to give lots of dimension.
Hope you like it!
