I found an article in Ladies Home Journal (Nov. 2011) about raising chickens. A lady decided to raise chickens to get cheap eggs. After building a coop and a fence, buying chickens and replacing those killed by predators, her eggs cost approximately $2.17 each! She still kept the chickens because she likes them, so I suppose the cost has gone down since she doesn't have to build coops and fences, but I loved the quote that is behind my rooster: "I have turned into one of those dopes who buys a tea towel because it has a picture of a hen on it." I guess I'm a dope too! LOL! Thanks for taking a peek!

What a terrific story, and you brought back childhood memories. My mom got a lot of magazine subscriptions - all the ladies' magazines. She had a closet of magazines from the past 10 years at all times. You did a great job coloring that fantastic rooster stamp, and he looks wonderful on the newsprint.
