This card was made using black card stock from SU and layered with a patterned sheet that I bought from Walmart last year (it's from a pack of patterned 48 black & white 12" x 12" sheets). I used white SU card stock for the inside message and to stamp all of my images. I then used SU - 'Green Galore' to ink my leaves and stems followed with 'Green Tea' gelato to rub here and there for highlights and then a little 'Lemon' gelato on the leaves for extra highlights. The flowers took the longest - For the flower petals I used my 'Red Cherry' gelato and sponged over them completely and let it dry, then I added more gelato at the top of each petal and only sponged half way down letting it dry again I repeated the second step again and let them dry. Once dried, I painted the centers with white gesso and then white gel pen (for cleaner definition) and then with 'Olive Vine' Silks acrylic glaze but I felt it needed more so I added the 'Yellow' Stickles. After all the gelato action my flower edges needed re-inking so I used my SU 'Basic Black' journaling marker to outline everything. I used the same technique on the butterfly (for the green) as I did the vines and used SUp's black embossing powder on it and the sentiment. The sentiment was punched using SUp's 'Sizzlits Lot's of Tags - Label 1' ( I felt it needed a black border so I sketched a bigger one and cut it out) then distressed it with my 'Red Cherry' gelato. I wanted everything to 'pop' off the page so I rounded out the flowers & vines over a marker and used pop up squares for the butterfly and sentiment. The pearls are from Kaisercraft and the beads I used to accent the flowers & leaves are from an old necklace I made for myself 20 years ago. The ribbon came from a clothing tag, in case you don't know me - I save anything and everything I know I can use in my art projects lol!
For adhesive I combined, Glossy Accents (for the beads), Elmer's school glue & snail adhesive (for flowers, vines & paper) and Tacky Glue for the ribbon.
A little tip - For those of you new with gelatos like I am, I found out the frustrating way that each layer must dry before adding a new one. If it isn't dry your second layer rubs off while trying to add it.
