I was bit by the watercolor bug over the last week or so. One day I woke up thinking about this gorgeous rubber stamp that I purchased last spring from my local stamp store, Impress. I've literally had this beauty for about 8 months or so, and this week was the FIRST time I inked it up! Travesty! At least I used it ... I buy so many stamps that just sit in my craft room staring at me. Why do I do that?? Anyway, I also bought the 36-color set of Zig Kuretake Gansai Water Colors about 8 months ago and have not used them once until now!
I had so much fun playing with these paints ... they are so pigmented and creamy ... it took a little getting used to. I had to use more water than I normally do, which makes me think I need to buy thicker water color paper to use these paints in the future. The Distress watercolor paper pilled up on me a tiny bit. Luckily I was able to smooth out the pills with a microfiber cloth without affecting the finished product too much.
Also, I have to give a shout out to the Really Reasonable Ribbon monthly ribbon club. I would NEVER have picked out a brown satin ribbon like the one on this card. But, since I had it I wanted to use it. And, the whole color scheme of this card was based on the warm shiny-ness of this ribbon.
I just love how this card turned out. I sent this card to my mom. But because of our gene pool, I stamped a silly, subversive sentiment on the inside from Riley Co. stamps, which I know will tickle her funny bone.
Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!!!!
