This is the card I created for the IC 509 challenge "Cake". Audrie found an amazing site full of unbelievable cakes for us to drool over as we searched for inspiration. I chose this gorgeous cake as the inspiration for my card.
I used an identical card to the card base to cut a scalloped piece and embossed it with the Swiss Dots ef. After attaching it to the base, I touched each dot with a black Stardust pen. The sparkle barely shows in the photo, but it's plainly visible IRL. I added small flowers cut from scrap paper - some are glossy, others are plain cs. I formed them and attached them to the card base. The ones cut from plain cs were brushed with Wink of Stella clear brush pen. I die cut the top of a delicate tree and used pieces of the branches for greenery.
I cut a very thin border using the scalloped cutting blade on my paper trimmer and attached it at the top of the embossed piece. The sentiment and small heart were cut from cardstock that I adhered to yellow craft foam. They flattened out considerably in the Big Shot, but there is still some dimension. All of these pieces were brushed with Wink of Stella, as well.
I added black glitter dots and small black glitter flowers to the flower centers for a bit more sparkle and pizazz.
As always, thanks for looking!

Oh, Jody, did you ever nail this challenge! That cake is amazing, and your card is perfect! Wow, I love the bitty, multi-colored blossoms and the wonderful word die. And even the swiss dot embossing finishes it to perfection. A perfect challenge card for that cake! Stunning! Hugs!

I read and went back and looked...and read some more...because this card is a LOOKER. You did a lot of different things here, and tied it all up together really well!
I like that you used the tree branches that way...always good to use things in a different way. And all the detail work! wow.
