My resolve to make cards that were not so bright and weird lasted 3 days. I really don't know what happened here. I have been a little sad that we can't afford a small summer vacation, so I went a little crazy in my imaginary travels to a beautiful garden. I was just going to practice shading, and I draw those intestine looking coils to practice. The last time I did that, I was practicing with browns and the result looked like something my dog, Dolly, makes on the lawn. I thought that using color would make it look less like poop....it still looked like internal organs. I added the leaves to get away from the dead body part look. The next thing I knew, I had this very bright, busy card. The leaves are hand drawn, and the flowers are colored with watercolor pencils. TFL, Francie

The texture you've given your "intestines" is amazing! I like the little leaves popping out amongst them. And your bright flowers are just beautiful. I'm sorry you haven't been able to manage even a mini vacation in the flesh - but your imagination is free to travel!

Ya gotta love that description!! You are just as creative in words as you are in art. I kind of feel the same way - bummed about not taking in a vacation. I guess we all have our reasons, and it's probably how we deal with life. I'm so glad that both you and I have the ability to sit down and craft. As you say, it is a temporary vacation. Don't forget to breath once in a while too. Hugs!! :>)

Oh wow Francie, this is one of those "life imitating art" moments!!! Last week on NCIS Abby had amazing artwork of brightly coloured body parts and I thought, oh wow these look like Francies brilliant doodles. Now I see your art work and I think....this looks like Abby's amazing art collection. You are seriously talanted Miss Francie. Never ever stop being arty, never stop being colourful and most of all, never stop being weird my friend.

Love your adventure here! Fun, fun, fun coil like things and pretty leaves and flowers - the result is kind Alice in Wonderlandish but super cool and fun. I think it is wonderful and you are very talented!! I am bummed we can't go on a even small vacation either so we are in the same boat. Hugz
