Wow! I can't believe how easy it was to bring the Tea Pot Tuesday challenge and card sketch challenge together. Tuesday's card called for qulting with stitching and the sketch challenge today just screamed Crazy Quilt!
I made a template of each section in the card sketch and used for a pattern to cut out the material. I then pieced the material onto card stock and fastened it with temp tape. I added the various embroidery stitches to hold down ribbon, add interest and to fasten the the material to the card stock permanently.
I did need to vary from the sketch a bit. To hide the rough edges from quilting I needed to make a frame for the entire quilt. The frame is fastened to the card base and quilt with raised dots. Hope my card brings cheer to our Tea Pot Tuesday recipient.

I must check the sketch challenge! I love seeing real fabric on cards, and it's certainly perfect for the patchwork theme. It's going to be a lovely card for Lisa to receive - not just the lovely colours but it must be so tactile to feel, with the fabric and lacy trim.
